SIGHTINGS
We welcome records of sightings of all bird species, with the common species being as important as the rare. These should be sent to our club Recorder no later than the end of March following the end of the year if they are to be considered for inclusion in the relevant annual report. You are however welcome to submit them 'as you go'.

Sightings of scarce species or races should be reported immediately directly to the Recorder.

Where possible, records should include date, time, location and notes of any unusual behaviour, as well as species, numbers, where possible sex and any indication of breeding activity, such as singing, territorial display, nests, food carrying or presence of young.

Note: Please ensure that all records are submitted in this way in addition to any posting you may make in the Forum – it is not practical for us to rely upon the forum for such purposes.

Please also see Species requiring a description for details of rarer species and races where more detail is required either for club purposes or for consideration at Yorkshire Naturalists Union (YNU) or national level.

The Huddersfield List provides an up to date checklist of all of the species that have been accepted as recorded in the Club Area since records began. Why not print it off as a your local year or life checklist and see how well you are doing ?
