Red Kite and Green Sands
Jul 31st, 2010, 6:28pm

Two Green Sands at Scout Dike this morning till about 10.30. Excellent views and my first 'multiple' sighting here.
At 12.00 I was nicely distracted from my turkey sarnies by a Red Kite which circled over the conifer plantation and then flew SW.
Around 10.30ish I also heard a gropper but very briefly. So brief in fact that I couldn't pin it down to the N or S bank. I heard it again about 40 mins later. Interesting that Alf had one at Ingbirchworth a few days ago. Five years since my lst here so I'll give it a go first thing in the morning.
Also of note - at least 7 swifts, 3 Common Sands and 50 Lapwings.

Ps - Single Green Sand at Ingbirchworth first thing plus juv Common Gull.
