DAVID BARRANS

It is with deep regret that I have to announce the death of David Barrans. David was a founder member of the Club and became our Recorder from 1994-96. David’s greatest natural history achievement, however, was the founding of Shepley Bird and Wildlife Group in 1980. The group is still very active to this day.

David was also a personal friend who I had known and admired for many decades. Indeed, he took great delight in telling people that he met me when I was still in short trousers!
