The Red-necked Avocet is indigenous to Australia and a "first" for me. There were a significant numbers that appeared to be resident on the shallow wetland created in the Sydney Olympic Park Reserve. I visited the Reserve several times in the hope I could get a closer shot unfortunately not to be on this trip - maybe next time!
