Spurn Bird Observatory is holding a 1 day workshop on Basic Birding Skills on Sunday 4 th August.

The workshop is aimed at beginners or those wanting to refresh their birding ID  Skills , with tips on all the best identification techniques.

The event still has a few places left , so we wondered if any of your members , especially those who are just beginning to enjoy the joys of birding , might want to join the workshop.

It’s fun , assures no prior knowledge , with NO Tests, and includes both some easily understand theory input and field walks , with an insiders look at the workings of the Observatory. Our hosts are Westmere Farm just up the road from the Obs , and they will provide tea / coffee drinks throughout and a buffet lunch.

The Start time is 9:30 am , concluding at 4 pm. The cost is £55 per person , all proceeds , after costs to our hosts , going to the work of the bird observatory.

If any of your members are interested , then they should please contact : Nick Whitehouse at nickwhitehouse@btinternet.com.

Nick is a Committee member at Spurn  and he and Rob Adams , chairman at the Observatory will be running the workshop together.    You may recall Rob and Nick have been giving talks on Spurn to various bird clubs and RSPB groups around the country in the last couple of years.
