Some of you may have read of the practice of night time olive picking by machines in France,Italy and Spain which is said to have wiped out 2 million birds in one year in Spain alone.
Sainsburys and Waitrose claim their own brands are hand picked.
Hand picked Italian brands are supposed to be labelled GIAHS.
It is reported that the following oils are from hand picked olives : Clearspring ,
Donna Lucia, Morocco Gold, Kalios, Olivocracy, Oro de Desierto,
Terre di San Vitro, Zaytoun.
