Who can resist these, especially from the warmth and comfort of the mini-bus.

Male Steller's Eiders have usually left for siberian breeding grounds come this time of year. Females and immature males linger, like these two in Vadso harbour.

Best wader of the trip was Pectoral Sandpiper and, believe it or not, Grey Plover! Purple Sands were very numerous around the harbor, and very photogenic.

A Redpoll flock, comprised mainly of Commons, included a couple of Coue's Arctic jobbies. Before anyone shouts 'wait a minute' all I'll say is that Killian Mullarney was leading the tour and if he says it was one then, for me, it was.

Almost forgot about these. More Babbler-like than any crow, these Siberian Jays are incredibly curious, even more so if you turn up with a few leftovers from breakfast!

I don't see anywhere near as many white-winged gulls as I'd like to. There were several imm Glaucous Gulls around, including this one at Batsfijord, just before a blizzard took hold.
Cheers
Russ
