From Joe Margetts of  "Moors for the Future" :

I was wondering if the event listed below would be of any interest to Hudds Birders? We’re setting up a new survey to look at upland plant timings (leafs, buds, berries etc.) and the event is to help us spread the word. If you think any of your members might be interested in coming along and finding out more then please feel free to share the invite around.

Moorlands and a changing climate - free talk and walk

We'd like to invite you to join us for an informal talk and walk to find out about the effects of climate change on moorlands - and how we can to monitor changes.

The event celebrates the launch of the Moors for the Future 'Buds, Berries and Leaves' moorland calendar survey - which will record the timings of seasonal events (such as the opening of leaves and flowers) in four moorland plants - to see if they are changing.

- Short talks from varied speakers about citizen science, moorlands and climate change
- Stalls and displays from local groups
- Free light lunch (there is such a thing!)
- An optional walk on to the moor (bring suitable boots and clothing if you wish to join us for this part)

All are welcome to attend this free event.

You can reserve your free place here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/moorlands-and-a-changing-climate-free-talk-and-wa...
