Treasure your club and your recorder

As you all know I've moved house to live in Seahouses, Northumberland and whilst it's a fabulousbirding area the local bird club does leave a lot to be desired.
It's nowhere near as professionally run as HBWC and the type of recordong that goes on is nothing short of neglegent. If the recorder was asked if a certain species of bird was in decline or increase he would not have a clue unlike David Butterfield. So again I say treasure you club and your recorder.

Too true David.Dragooned to assist with the report for the first time despite my ropey IT skills I was amazed at the amount of information that our Recorder has to sort.

Well I was asked Alf ,but my excuses about lack of tech skills and lack of the full version of word seemed insufficient.I even had to figure out how to use Sky cloud-whatever that is! A couple of times all my work disappeared into the ether and stayed there for most of the day during which I did not do anything else for fear of losing it all.Just hope what I did was not needing too much editing.

Well I've recently proofread the report and all you writers have done an excellent job again.

Until you actually get involved it isn't obvious how much work it takes to produce. I am amazed that it used to be all the work of just one person.
